Our customer required an injection molded hard body “eggcrate” component with integrated overmolded gaskets using a softer material on both sides of the part. Because the eggcrate was to be used in an industrial application, the gaskets needed to ensure a complete seal of the display enclosure from the environment.
Cloud-Rider Designs came to Melet for assistance in designing an all-new Mud Flap that could outperform all other products currently in the market. In addition to its performance and strength requirements, the mud flap also needed to incorporate an overmolded stainless steel decorative plate and accommodate fitment onto a wide range of vehicles.
This customer required a plastic diffuser for use in its floor ventilation system. Of somewhat complicated design, the diffuser presented several engineering challenges including heavy point load requirements, flame retardant specifications and multiple undercut features at extreme angles.
Our customer needed to produce an industrial electronics enclosure in large quantity, that featured two overmolded threaded brass inserts into which fasteners could be threaded for mounting the component. The part required a glass-filled resin for strength, but still needed to be molded within critical flatness tolerances.
