FEA computer

Simulation today. Real world performance tomorrow.

Finite Element Analysis

Perhaps most important step in the design process is predicting how your part will perform under real world use and conditions. How will it withstand heat or cold? Will it break if exposed to excessive forces or a sudden impact? To answer questions like these Melet employs Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Autodesk mechanical simulation software. The process allows us to assess the overall product design and material selection based on simulating the loads and forces the manufactured part is expected to encounter. As such we can better predict product's performance and behaviour before committing to a final design.

First developed to help solve complex problems in civil and aeronautical engineering, FEA works by breaking down an object into hundreds, or even thousands, of finite elements. Using mathematical equations to predict the behavior of each element under predetermined stresses or forces, we can better predict the behavior of the actual object under normal use conditions.

Some of the factors that Melet uses FEA to test for include heat transfer, fatigue, motion, electrostatics, fluid flow, mechanical stress and vibration.
