Melet Plastics plans for new production facility in Texas.

Canadian injection plastics molder Melet Plastics Inc., based in Winnipeg, Manitoba has formed a new US company, Melet Plastics USA, Inc. The new US Company has purchased 4 acres of land in Converse, Texas and is investing $2 million to build a 10,880 sq. ft. molding facility in order to supply current customers located in the US and in Northern Mexico.

Melet Plastics Inc. has been in operation since 1968 and has grown steadily by being one of the leaders in engineering plastics solutions. The company offers its customers complete part and tool design capabilities, with complete in-house mold manufacturing capabilities, specializing in complex tool builds. Melet is recognized as one of Manitoba’s top five lean manufacturers. Melet Plastics Inc. is also a leader in cellular manufacturing and produces canes for the disabled and visually impaired in its subsidiary company, AmbuTech, which sells and distributes products throughout the world. Melet Plastics Inc. employs over 100 employees at their Winnipeg location. The plant in Converse, Texas expects to employ 29 employees in the first year, with plans to grow.
